The Theater Department at Ponte Vedra High School
The theater department has significantly grown in recent years at Ponte Vedra High School. Courses offered to students interested in theater include Drama 1-4 and Acting 3. Additionally, the whole school is invited to audition for the school play, which is held in the fall. Directed by Joseph Kemper, actors in school theater productions rehearse from September-November for 6-8 hours per week. Past productions include The Foreigner and To Kill A Mockingbird. Students interested in theater are also encouraged to prepare monologues, scenes, or pantomimes to perform in front of judges at the district thespian festival. Those who receive a superior rating at the district competition advance to compete at the state level. |
