The Sharkapellas - Information
Founded in 2010, the Ponte Vedra High School Sharkappellas are the first and only a cappella group in St. Johns County. An entirely student run group, the Sharkappellas includes 18 members ranging from freshmen to seniors that make music using only their voices. The Sharkappellas rehearse for 5-8 hours weekly in order to prepare and perform songs arranged and taught by students and selected from a wide variety of genres and time periods.
For the past 5 years, the Sharkappellas have competed in the International Competition of High School A cappella (ICHSA) and have received awards including best choreography and best student arrangement. Additionally, the Sharkappellas enjoy performing in at community events, especially the school “stair sings,” during which the group performs for other students in the the stairwells at PVHS. |
